Utah Governor Cox Encourages Red Kettle Donations

Dec 11, 2023

Utah Governor Spencer Cox joined officers from The Salvation Army in volunteering his time as a celebrity bell ringer on December 5, 2023 in Bountiful, Utah.

The  governor noted 109,000 Utahns have received help from The Salvation Army in 2023 and the demand is continuing to increase. “Thousands of young people won’t have Christmas without your generosity in supporting the red kettles this year,” the Governor said. “So I encourage you to dig deep in your pocket and support this wonderful cause.” The governor then made a donation on his smartphone by scanning the QR code on the sign.

Other Utah politicians who joined the Governor in ringing the bell at the Red Kettle include: Town of Brighton Mayor Dan Knopp, Utah Representative Gay Lynn Bennion, Cottonwood Heights Mayor Michael Weichers – Cotton Wood Heights Council Member Ellen Birrell, Herriman Mayor Lorin Palmer, Utah State Senator Kathleen Riebe, and West Jordan Mayor Dirk Burton.
